CRYODERM® HEAT WARNING contains Capsaicin, some patients are hypersensitive to this ingredient. They may experience excessive redness, discomfort, blistering, or experience what they perceive to be an unpleasant burning sensation; others find the sensation and effects of CRYODERM® HEAT to be pleasant and more effective than our Cold products. Advise patients that this product contains Capsaicin before applying or giving them samples to determine if they react to Capsaicin. It is advisable to place a small amount of this product on a test area to see if this product is suitable and tolerated by each patient. If after applying the patient does not like the sensation, wash the area with cold water and soap, repeat as needed. NEVER USE HOT WATER. In cases where the patient has used CRYODERM® HEAT without consultation and is having a negative reaction, advise the patient to apply dairy (ie: yogurt) or olive oil to lessen the sensation. CRYODERM COLD + HEAT THERAPY INGREDIENTS
Menthol Our menthol is steam extracted from peppermint, the vapours form a waxy crystal substance that is pure menthol. These crystals are then dissolved into the liquid product. No chemicals or heavy metals are used during this process.Not all menthol is created equal. Most other analgesics use inexpensive synthetic versions. Synthetic menthol is mainly derived from Coal Tar, which is a by-product of coal processing . Or other plants such as the thyme leaf in which the menthol crystals are extracted using a mixture of chemicals such as propene or acetone. These synthetic versions form a different strain of menthol which is proven less effective than pure menthol from peppermint.
MSM Is a naturally occurring essential nutrient found in healthy human tissue and joints, plants and animals. It helps open the pores to allow the product to pass through the skin and penetrate deep into the joint. When applied it will create a tingling sensation.
Arnica A natural plant, part of the sunflower family, Arnica is know for its anti-bruising agent and can help reduce bruising, swelling, edema, hematoma and contusions.
Boswellia (Also known as Indian Frankincense) A herbal extract from the Boswellia serrate tree and used for centuries in Asian and African folk medicine to reduce inflammation and improve mobility and relieve pain.
Ilex Derived from holly and used in many herbal remedies to help reduce swelling and loosen stiff joints. Eucalyptus Derived from steam distilling dried leaves of the eucalyptus tree, it has warming properties that are antibacterial and anti inflammatory in nature.
Purified water Reverse osmosis is used to ensure that it is chemical free.
Peppermint oil Has anesthetic properties as well as being a vascular and lymphatic system stimulant. Peppermint creates a burning-cold sensation.

Methyl Salicylate With similar effects to aspirin, products with methyl salicylate in them should not be used for more then 7 days straight, and should not be applied on skin that is warm or hot. For example, pre or post workout, or in the hot sun as this will allow excessive absorption into the blood stream. Over use of this product or when used along with other medications such as aspirin or blood thinners can result in a build up of methyl salicylate in the blood stream which can lead to an overdose, kidney failure, difficulty breathing, convulsions and on some occasions death. There is at least 1 documented case in the United States of a Methyl salicylate overdose that lead to death.
Dyes Used in many topical analgesics to add colour, dyes may stain clothes, skin and may cause irritation. In addition there is currently a movement to ban these dyes in the use of food and topical preparation.
Silicone Widely used in bathtub, toilet and window sealant. This inexpensive product that blocks pores, can trap bacteria, cause dryness of skin, and skin irritation.
Isopropyl Alcohol More widely known as Rubbing Alcohol. It is primarily produced by combining water and pro-pene in a chemistry lab. The instructions for this product state: Do not use over large areas of the body. Do not use for more then 1 week. If ingested seek immediate medical attention or go to a poison control centre.
